Used on my Cat.This review is written by someone who bought this product and was not paid for this.Opinion: I’ve used these clippers twice since receiving them and they have done a great job at trimming cat nails. They do not spinter the nail and make a precise cut.Packaging: Pet Republique does a good job a providing good pictures to represent what you will get when ordering their product.Build Quality: The steel clippers are sharp and cut very clean. The grip area is a solid black plastic surrounded by a soft rubberized grip for a firm grip when cutting. This is a great feature to avoid any possibility of slippage.This is a great product for cats & small dog nails and I am confident it will work for your pet needs.

I am totally new to clipping my cats claws. Up until recently I had never had a full grown cat with claws. My first cat I had declawed as I was totally ignorant about the dangers of that at the time. Thankfully that cat is still doing well from that procedure 11 years later but now that I’m more educated on the matter I knew I didn’t want to do that again. Anyways, I have a new adult cat that I rescued who was scratching everything in site. I ordered these and immediately sat her down to start work. I was terrified I was accidentally going to hurt her but it was so easy for both me and her!! I had to do one paw at a time bc she started to squirm from being held still too long but they worked great and I’m so happy with them!

The ergonomic feel of the nail clippers makes clipping a wiggly dog’s nails easier (I am a professional dog groomer). The bent angle, allows me to lift the dog’s foot backwards and clip the nail horizontal to the pad perfectly, decreasing the chances of my cutting the quick. The design of it works great because the closing/locking tab is inside the handles, not outside. Other clippers, with the locking tab on the outside by the thumb, will accidentally lock when you clip, every time, making nail clipping twice as hard and very frustrating. Clip, reset the shield, unlock it over and over. Actually, the black plastic locking tab fell off very easily, but in my case, it made the clippers better. The safety shield stays in place too. The shield on other clippers won’t stay over the opening so that I have to adjust it back over the opening between each nail clip. When the shield stays, I can clip, clip, clip quickly, getting through the groom faster, without getting the quick of the nail.

I’m a first time cat owner to a Ragdoll kitten that just turned 4-months old yesterday and I never realized just how sharp kitty claws could be ’til now. We’ve had Sora for a full week now and you wouldn’t believe the amount of SCARS I’ve had in those 7 days. My arms, legs, and even my shoulders (he has the habit of kneading a lot in the mornings, claws out; he’s been waking me up this way everyday) are full of scratches which I’ve gotten from him being too cuddly and not knowing when to retract his claws.Anyway, I finally decided to buy clippers online and found these and I regret not getting these SOONER. We gave Sora his first nail clipping experience today and it went more smoothly than I thought it would have and these clippers definitely helped. He was a little fidgety but not so much that we had to stop. We managed to do all his nails (front and back) in one sitting and they’re so much better now. I haven’t been scratched once. I also like the size of this clipper. Not too small but small enough. I would think the size of this clipper would be great even for a fully grown cat. Also I love the sharpness. It made the entire process way easier and so much quicker. I highly recommend this product!

My cat is relatively small (8 pounds), so I selected these clippers because they seemed to be small enough to make it as easy as possible to use and still have a good grip on both the clippers and the cat! The only drawback to these clippers is that they don’t have a safety closure. Otherwise, they’d get 5 stars from me. UPDATE: My vet likes these clippers, and told me that she prefers clippers that do NOT have “guards” or safety closures because they get into her way, slowing down the procedure.

We have two young kittens and have been trying to clip their nails for 6 months now and it’s been a constant battle. I have tried three different types of nail trimmers and they have all failed within a month or two, either dull very quickly or nails cause they to break or out of adjustment and won’t trim very well. So I decided to purchase a more precision and professional type. Well, these trimmers work very well. My kittens now almost a year old, don’t seem to mind trimming as much with these new trimmers, I trim their nails almost every week to week and half, so I will see how long these stay sharp. Trimms seem to be much better quality and fairly well built over cheap trimmers I have used in the past. They have a good feel and are small enough to maneuver around to get a good trim on smaller paws. Since they are also sharp I don’t believe that it hurts the cats like the other cheap ones.I would recoomend this product, not sure how it would work on larger animals, but so far works great for my cats.

I knew I really liked them right off the bat but didn’t realize how much better they were than other brands until I miss placed them. My kittens nails seem to grow so quickly, so I grabbed another one at the store on the way home one day. They don’t feel as good on my hand, they aren’t as sharp, flimsy. Looks like I’m going to buy another one from Pet Republique!
